School Life
HOME AWAY FROM HOME
If you still think that life at a boarding school is lonely, elitist and a life of discipline and order, Lyceum Alpinum Zuoz may surprise you. Thus, it is all the more important that young people find stability in a strong community and have the freedom to grow. Due to the family-like, international character of our boarding school, our students mature into responsible, critically-thinking and self-confident individuals.
ONE BIG FAMILY
The admission and assessment of new students depends on past school performance, assessments and teacher recommendations. Applications are reviewed, and qualifying candidates are invited to attend an interview and take an admissions test. Candidates will then be informed of the school’s decision. Upon admission, the
families concerned will receive a school contract and an invoice for the deposit to be paid. The enrolment becomes effective when we receive the deposit and the signed school contract.
ACTIVITIES
We value variety. In students’ free time, they engage in a range of sports. And that’s just the beginning: there is a school band; there are theatre groups, such as Theatre ; projects and workshops. Weekends include a wide range of programmes, as well. Ten weekends of the year are designated “Community Weekends”, where even more options are available: river rafting; mountain and
fascinating museums; musicals; or theatres.

Houses
Our boarding facilities are thoughtfully designed to support students of different age groups. Boys and girls are accommodated in separate hostels, with age-appropriate living spaces that encourage independence while creating a warm, homely environment.
Life in the hostels is guided by values of respect, openness, and fairness, fostering a supportive community for all students. Each dormitory accommodates a maximum of eight students, and laundry facilities are available for their convenience.

activities
We believe that learning isn’t restricted to classrooms. Therefore hands-on activities are considered an integral part of our academic programme.
Sports, art, pottery, dance, music, drama, yoga asanas and the ancient martial art form of Kalaripayattu are an intrinsic part of our programme and students are encouraged to pursue them with equal vigour.
Once a term, students of all grades are taken for a day trek.
Grade 11 and 12 are taken for a night camp to the neighbouring hillock where they set up tents, build a fire, cook a basic meal and learn to live frugally in the outdoors.
